It has lesser mountains and more plains and has the nationally renowned touristic attraction, Simok beach in Eommok-ri, southwestern part of the island. The three sides of the beach are surrounded by mountains like folding screens, so that the beach seems very cozy. It has the 2.5km long sandy beach and the water is crystal clear. In summer, it is a favorite spot for tourists. Erosion & torrent control work was done on the 2km coast, so that the slope is gentle and not too risky. In the oval-shaped long and wide sandy beach, there are sand castles here and there. Standing here, people might think that they are in a fantasy of viewing a picture of scenery with the mountains and the sea.

Walking an hour from the dock of Bulseom, Docho-myeon, and passing Kimhae-origin Kim's family mountain, people can visit Mannyeon temple in the middle of Yongdang mountain. The temple was built in 400-pyeong area with 45-pyeong (7 buildings) floor space by Ms. Guinyeo Moon's sincere belief in Buddha and Buddhists' cooperation. It is relatively big Jogyejong temple with about 160 Buddhists.

According to the legend, a mysterious-looking old man passing by this area before the temple was built said, "by looking at the shape of the mountain, if a temple is built here, it will be prosperous for 10,000 years and the water will not dry even in the drought" and thus, a temple was built and named as Mannyeon (phonetically 10,000 years in Korean) temple. It is a quiet and small temple with birds singing and streams running.
